This was artist, Carol Currie’s first attempt at the Rocks found in Awenda Park, near her home and Claustro Art Gallery of Midland Ontario.

I have always been intrigued by the large boulders that lay interspersed across the water and land. The rock is so different that my familiar white quartzite of La Cloche mountaints. But the contrast between the blacks and greys with the pink granite is remarkable. A storm had just passed which left the rocks dark and forboding. Beautiful.
