Painting of La Cloche Mountains, Willisville and West Wind Tree - PAINTING OF THE WEEK · Jun 11, 04:10 pm
This was a very interesting painting. It started off a small solo 9” x 12” painting. The client knew I tend to enjoy creating multiple panel paintings, so she asked if I could add onto this first original piece with maybe one or two more panels. Being very familiar with this area of the La Cloche Mountains, I knew immediately that I could easily compose at least a three panel (triptych) for her.
This final triptych painting is what developed from this first painting.

Painting of Starvation Bay, San Souci, near Parry Sound, Georgian Bay - PAINTING OF THE WEEK · Jun 11, 04:00 pm
Carol Currie’s latest commissioned work. Commissioned by an avid Sailor of Georgian Bay and the Great Lakes. He was enthralled by the tremendous orange lichen covering almost the entire Island at Starvation Bay, located near San Souci. It was a typical misty day, creating contrasts between the ice formed rock and the lava formations.
“What a thrill to work on this piece. I absolutely loved the shapes and lines in the rock.”

Rock Painting of the Month - May · Jun 2, 12:55 am
For the month of May, I am including two paintings as THE monthly favourites … one image is a painting of an Erratic found at Silver Peak of Killarney Provincial Park, JUST SOLD to a client on my waiting list. The second image is a painting of one of the many Georgian Bay Beaches found in the Midland area. This one is specifically inspired by Lafontaine Beach.

Painting of the Month - April 2010 · Apr 29, 11:32 am
Nearly completed, this is the Painting of the Month for April. The photos below show a work in progress, a closeup of details, then the ‘nearly’ finished piece.
The Rockface is complete. The clients will be in to review the piece on Saturday to discuss the addition of a tree element. The original intent of the composition allowed for a pine to be placed on the third panel at the top of the rock .. small as if coming from the land beyond and behind the rockface. But I have a few other new ideas as well.
